Our Offices
Clean Air Asia maintains a presence across the region through its head office in Manila, and country offices in China, India, and Indonesia. Together, our teams provide technical expertise, policy support, research, and communications to help create cleaner air and healthier communities throughout Asia.
Manila
The Manila office serves as Clean Air Asia’s head office and regional hub, providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and operational support across the organisation’s programmes. Working with governments, development partners, civil society organisations, and the private sector, the team advances initiatives on air quality management, sustainable transport, clean energy transitions, climate and health. The office also leads regional research, knowledge-sharing, communications, and policy engagement efforts to support cleaner air and healthier cities across Asia.
Indonesia
In 2015, Clean Air Asia began its work in Indonesia by developing guidelines to improve urban air quality, conducting air pollution management workshops, delivering capacity-building activities, and initiating Clean Air Action Plans (CAAPs) in several cities, including Palembang, Bogor, and Tangerang. The Indonesia team was formally established in 2024. Since then, the organisation has focused on providing sustained technical assistance to national and subnational governments.
India
Clean Air Asia has been working in India since 2008, engaging with Indian cities for better air quality management and aligning with our overall work program on broad air quality interventions. We provide scientific input to city governments for better air quality, particularly in the context of facilitating Clean Air Action Plans and education/communication for cleaner air.
China
Clean Air Asia has been working in China since 2002 to improve air quality management (AQM) and promote green transport, and was the first NGO to establish a city AQM network throughout the country. Our China office was officially registered as a foreign NGO in China in March 2018, with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment as our professional supervisory organization.
