Firefly Brigade

The Firefly Brigade is a non-stock, non-profit, and SEC-registered citizen’s volunteer action group which works for clean air and a habitable, people-friendly environment in our cities.

Current activities and projects include:
1) Conducting regular monthly critical mass rides (CMRs) to promote visibility on the road for cyclists and road sharing;

2) Non-motorized transportation fora, bicycle clinics and linkages with government to promote the NMT agenda;

3) Promoting bicycle parking/spaces in commercial establishments and working towards the establishment of cycle-inclusive urban and regional planning;

4) Project R.A.C.K. (Raising Awareness, Capacities and Knowledge-sharing for the promotion of bicycle use in the Metro) – Awarding/donation of Bicycle Racks to city halls and government institutions in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands;

5) Tour of the Fireflies – About 8-10,000 participants ride through the streets of Metro Manila during this annual mardi gras on wheels to promote clean air, roadsharing and non-motorized transportation initiatives every 3rd sunday of April.
