About the Better Air Quality conference

The BAQ is the leading event on air quality in Asia, covering control of all sources of air pollution including emissions from transport, energy, agriculture, waste, construction, and industry, with a particular emphasis on solutions including national- and city-level policies and measures. The BAQ has a proven history of influencing policies, initiating new projects, and establishing innovative partnerships.

At the last BAQ in 2023, more than 700 policymakers, practitioners and industry leaders from all over the world participated to network, learn, and share experiences.

The BAQ conference is usually held once every two years in cities around Asia. With the first BAQ held in 2002 in Hong Kong, China a total of ten (10) BAQs have been held so far. The other host cities were Kuching (2018), Busan (2016), Colombo (2014), Hong Kong (2012), Singapore (2010), Bangkok (2008), Yogyakarta (2006), Agra (2004), Manila (2003). The 2020 BAQ which was planned to be organized in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China (PRC) had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. BAQ 2023 was held in Manila, Philippines.
