BACKGROUND

To achieve meaningful reductions in air pollution throughout the region, a shared co- benefits approach to cooperation is needed. Countries must actively engage both internally and collectively to manage to ensure that the airsheds of the future safeguard the right to a healthy environment

OBJECTIVE

This Session will describe existing cooperative mechanisms to implement activities, with particular focus on identifying concrete areas for regional collaboration which can be implemented in the next 2-3 years. Emphasis will be placed on initiatives and funding opportunities. The Session will also discuss reflections and lessons learned from existing regional platforms and intergovernmental bodies on air pollution.
