COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, Beijing Office
Position Title: Communications Officer
Location: Clean Air Asia Office in Beijing

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE OF WORK
Under the supervision of China Director, the Communications Officer will be responsible for the communications of the Clean Air Asia China office including utilizing communication and focused campaigns to achieve our goals in China and in support of our China strategy.

General responsibilities:
• Develop and continuously update the communications plan of China Office
• Develop and implement the communication activities of Clean Air Asia programs and projects in China
• Design and implement two focused campaigns by 2018 with relevant staff
• Manage, maintain, and periodically update the Chinese version of Clean Air Asia website in coordination with relevant staff
• Build and manage effective communication and constructive relationships with our community of practice in China including government officials, NGOs, and journalists in the field of air quality management and green transport

Media:
• Responsible for Clean Air Asia China brand presence on all our social media venues including (but not limited to) Weibo and Wechat including day-to-day management of all social media channels in China
• Assist the Communications Officer in the CAA Manila Office with channeling China office programs and projects information through social media venues in English including (but not limited to) Twitter and Facebook

Better Air Quality (BAQ) Conference:
• Assist the Communications Officer in CAA Manila Office in delivering the media plan for the BAQ
• Assist the Communications Officer in CAA Manila Office in managing media events and outreach at the conference itself
• Responsible for media coverage in China of the conference

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA
• A university degree in Communications or related field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• In-depth knowledge of social media tools, trends, and applications (Weibo, Wechat, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc.) in China
• Creation of podcasts, RSS feeds, or related media
• Strong interest in learning new technologies and web software
• More than two years of working experience in the field of PR, branding, or campaigns in China
• Demonstrated experience of using communications or campaigns to achieve a set of goals
• Established media contacts in China is an advantage
• Shows initiative and good interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team
• Fluency in Chinese and English
• Knowledge of China air quality management and green transport development is an advantage
• Be able to travel in and outside of China
