Clean Air Drive

2 Dec 2012

Celebrity drivers and the general public use environmentally friendly, zero-emission modes of transport (cars, bicycles, rollerblades, monocycles, prams and walking) and tag the word 'AIR' on the streets of Hong Kong. The route will be marked by means of GPS tracking device and plotted on a map that serves as the 'canvas'. Simultaneous to the event, the 'tagging' made through a smartphone app will be projected on a big screen at the venue for public viewing.

The Clean Air Drive (also called CO2 Green Drive) is an Art, Climate and Technology Project by Danish artist Jacob Fuglsang Mikkelsen in collaboration with CO2 Green Drive Producer Michael Wolffhechel and the Danish Cultural Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. The first 'painting' took place in Milan, Italy in June of 2009, then Riga, Latvia in November 2009 followed by Copenhagen. Since then, tagged cities include New York, Roskilde, Vinius, Parma, Urbino, Horsens, Dakar, New Delhi, Bangalore, Bhopal, Thane, Cape Town, Santiago and Yokohama.
